FLIGHTS

More then ever travel to the Turks and Caicos and your vacation villa in Providenciales is no more than a short flight from North America. You could be relaxing in one of the lounge chairs looking out over the spectacular ocean views offered by the numerous decks at Stargazer while sipping on a local favorite cocktail, all by early afternoon.

Current flights offered by American Airlines include service three times daily from Miami, FL. As well as flights from JFK Airport and Boston. Durning the high season, there are flights from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. US Airways arrives daily from Charlotte, NC and during high season, flies directly from Philadelpha, PA and Boston, MA. Delta offers daily flights from Atlanta, GA. Air Canada flies direct from Toronto, and Ottawa and Montreal in season. WestJet also flies from Toronto. British Airways does a direct flight, via the Bahamas, from Heathrow on Sundays. Bahamas Air also flies from Nassua. Continental flies from Newark, NJ. JetBlue flies from New York, NY.

Please note that the airline schedules are constantly changing, so please check with your travel agent. Flight time is approximately 1h20 from Miami and 2h50 from New York. You will be given one Immigration form for each person and one Customs form per family. These should be completed on-board, prior to your arrival, to facilitate your entry into the Turks & Caicos.

IMMIGRATION / ENTRY

All visitors to the Turks and Caicos must hold a round trip ticket. Visitors are permitted to stay for 60 days, renewable one time only for a fee. All visitors, including children, now require a Passport to enter or leave the country. Visas are required for visitors from non-commonwealth and non-EU countries, except the USA and Canada; please contact a British Consulate Office for visa applications. Check with your travel agent or airline for more details. You will be required to fill in the landed immigration form to enter the country. When filling in address of where you are staying in the Turks and Caicos please enter, "Stargazer Villa, 29 International Drive, Providenciales." The Villa phone number is 649-431-4617.

CUSTOMS REGULATIONS

Visitors may bring in duty free for their own use, one carton of cigarettes or cigars, one bottle of liquor and some perfume. The importation of firearms and bullets, illegal drugs and pornography is strictly forbidden. After collecting luggage at Providenciales International Airport you will then proceed through the Customs area, where most likely as a visitor you will be carrying “personal use only” items and will hopefully proceed easily through.

BAGGAGE CLAIM / ARRIVALS AREA

While waiting for your luggage, take a moment to browse the information racks and pick up any interesting brochures on events and activities. Luggage carts are provided free of charge. There are also porters, with identification badges, available to help you with your luggage and direct you through Customs and out to the Arrivals area. They are usually tipped $3 per bag. Please note that the baggage area is patroled by drug sniffing dogs. They are very good at their job, so be fore-warned! You will be greeted by the Villa Manager, who will have a clipboard with your party's name on it, or if you prefer, just "Stargazer". Your transportation to the Villa is included in your rental, regardless of how many people or the number of arrivals. Do not take a taxi to the Villa, unless you are directed to do so by the Villa Manager. Should any of your luggage fail to arrive, first check that it was not removed by someone else from the luggage belt and is on the floor somewhere, then simply proceed to met the Villa Manager. She will help you file a claim. The good news is that almost all delayed luggage arrives later the same day or by 2pm the next day.

DEPARTURE TAX

The Turks and Caicos Islands Airport Departure Tax is $60 and levied on persons over 2 years of age. This is now included in the price of your airline ticket. When you are processed through Immigration upon entry, you will be given a stub. Place it in your passport and return it to the Immigration officer or ticket agent when you depart.
